AC Transit riders should be aware that AC Transit is looking at service cuts of about 15% in response to the CA Legislature/Guvenator’s glorious budget. The budget removes annual operating money from all transit agencies for the next 18 months leaving California transit agencies with large holes in their budget.
In preparing their plan, AC Transit will be holding workshops to take input before they release plans. Alameda will not host one of these meetings, despite requests I will add. If you take the bus and have thoughts on what service is most important in the upcoming restructuring, try and attend one of these upcoming public workshops:

What – me worry?
I am sure the people of Alameda has nothing to ever worry about as far as budget cuts, or loss of transit service, after all Wii are led by BevJo and have JKW & SunCal to Save Our City!!
RC,
The City of Alameda (officials and citizens alike) face many difficult challenges as it is, from school budget and transit cuts to replacing the substandard infrastructure put in by the US Navy.
The less-than-truthful and alarmist claims and campaigns by groups like SOCA make genuine attempts to respond to real issues like transit cuts (which affect poor people the most) all that much harder.
Because of SOCA – yes, me worry, indeed!
