Alameda Memorial Day

May 25, 2009

Last year, I had up the list of Alamedans who died in Iraq. As we remember their sacrifice, and the sacrifice of many others, we can be find small comfort in the fact that the list did not grow over the last year.SD&R will take a few minutes to remember and honor the sacrifice of those who served our country and lost their lives.

Aaron Boyles (Lance Corporal): Sept. 24, 2004

To all the veterans who have served us and sacrificed for us, I would like to say thank you. I appreciate your dedication and your service to our nation.

I still hope that one day we will no longer need to take up arms to resolve our differences, and that soldiers of every nation will be able to stop shooting at each other and be able to lay down their arms instead.
